Telekom checks departure from the fixed network for specific development areas - Heise Newsticker

Telekom has brought into the conversation, especially by the flat-rate throttling lately. Now she wants to check if at all fixed lines to be offered in certain development areas. The German Telekom AG in Bonn on Saturday confirmed a corresponding dpa request. The LAP and the Nordsee-Zeitung newspaper had previously reported that Telekom plans to launch a pilot project to determine whether the fixed network can be completely replaced in some areas by wireless connection.

“The precondition for this (…) is that the quality of care through a wireless connection does not change and the cost of the product is not higher,” the company added.
