ADVA FSP 3000 Cloud Connect (TM) allows non-blocking 16-QAM transmission over a distance of 385 kilometers <- sh_cad_2 ->
Posen (Poznan) Poland. September 23, 2015. ADVA Optical Networking today announced that its coherent 400Gbit / s-DCI technology (Data Center Interconnect) has passed the rigorous testing at Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) successfully. In field test two research and educational centers in Poznan and Warsaw were more than 385 kilometers of optical fiber connected to each other. The ADVA FSP 3000 Cloud Connect (TM), with its unique DCI technology has transmitted 14 hours without data block error – a result that so far, no other provider has achieved in the industry. Moreover sat ADVA Optical Networking by software configurable channel card in order to allow flexible data rates and modulation schemes. This allows the network to scale intelligently as required by 200Gbit / s over 300Gbit / s to 400Gbit / s or QPSK 8-QAM to 16-QAM.
“. Our DCI technology helps that the market is redefining it extends the horizon of expectations of the people and opens up new possibilities,” said Christoph Glingener, CTO, ADVA Optical Networking. “The most recent example of this is our 400Gbit / s field test at PSNC. This is a milestone for our FSP 3000 Cloud Connect (TM). The error-free transmission with 400Gbit / s over a distance of 385 kilometers in 16-QAM is a clear demonstration of the stability and reliability of our technology. This is in many ways what distinguishes our DCI solution from others. This is truly plug-and-play. There are very few companies in our industry that can rightly claim the . This test shows quite clearly why our DCI technology is so well received by our customers. ”
The field trial with 400Gbit / s was performed in the network of Pioneer with regular operation. PIONEER is a consortium of Polish research and education institutions, whose network is operated by PSNC. For the test, the ADVA FSP has been configured in an optical super channel 3000 Cloud Connect (TM) with two wavelengths to ever 200Gbit / s with 16-QAM. The system was also equipped with reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexers (ROADMs) and hybrid amplifiers equipped. The result of the 14-hour test: a completely error-free transmission with an impressive optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) of around 20dB. This test shows the potential of the ADVA FSP 3000 Cloud Connect (TM) technology, especially for bandwidth-intensive applications, which are used in relation to data transfers between data centers.
“By this 400Gbit / s field test is clear why we work together with the team at ADVA Optical Networking has long been He makes it clear why they equip our network.” explains Artur Binczewski, Director Network Division, PSNC. “The ADVA FSP 3000 Cloud Connect (TM) is the biggest technical achievement of the team, this technology opens up so many new opportunities for the Polish research and education communities offers us a whole new dimension of cooperation and exchange of information -.. A whole new chance for us. We are involved in many data-intensive projects. The most famous of which is perhaps our cooperation with CERN. The ADVA FSP 3000 Cloud Connect (TM) we can open up many new horizons. ”
