What is needed is more knowledge among the population and politicians to rate Fracking comprehensively can, called the President of the Federal Office for Geosciences and Natural Resources.

“The knowledge of the technology is lacking in many who interfere in the debate,” criticized Kümpel. Fears for fracking and so hung together, that many people could not identify exactly what is groundwater. In many cases, it is equated with drinking water. Drinkable, usable groundwater give it in northern Germany but only up to a few hundred meters depth.

Among them there were salted deepwater. “Fracking takes place at depths greater than 1,000 meters, not in the superficial region where usable groundwater could be burdened.” A penetration of dense deep water into the groundwater can not find place.
