launch in mid – relisted efficiency record

SolarWorld again increases the efficiency of its products. After an upgrade of the entire production to high-efficiency solar cells PERC, the Group has now announced that it will bring in mid-cells and modules with 5-busbar technology to market. With market conditions have so far three busbars (contacts on the frontside of the solar cell, to which they are connected). The 5-busbar technology alone increases the efficiency by up to two percentage points. With an efficiency of 21.51 per cent SolarWorld has therefore set straight again the world record for industrial PERC cells based on crystalline p-type silicon wafers.

“as much power in the smallest possible space and with maximum service life . This is the strategy of SolarWorld. So we reduce the overall cost of our customers, increase their power output and making solar power increasingly competitive with conventional power generation. All this made in Germany and made in USA, “says Dr.-Ing. E. h. Frank Asbeck, CEO of SolarWorld AG.

The record technology transferred SolarWorld currently in ongoing production. During the third quarter, SolarWorld plans to bring the first 300 watt module with 60 solar cells on the market.

To change to the 5-busbar technology that existing stringer systems are the solar cells interconnected to form a chain of ten solar cells, converted. In addition, the solar cell will be adjusted to Vorderseitenbedruckung five busbars and finer lines. Begun was thus already on SolarWorld location in the US Hillsboro / Oregon. The tags there should be completed later in the second quarter
