Samsung continues remits royalties to Nokia
Samsung continues remits royalties to Nokia

Nokia has before an arbitral tribunal settled a long-running patent dispute with Samsung and confirmed a previously closed Patent Agreement for the remaining five years. How much money the world’s best-selling smartphone manufacturer will pay exactly for the continued use of patented Nokia technology, the two companies do not share with. However, the Finnish company goes after the deal assuming that characterized the revenue division Nokia Technologies will rise to 1.02 billion euros for the full year 2015 – including an additional payment from Samsung for the period from 1 January 2014. For the years 2016 to the end of 2018. Nokia expects sales of at least 1.3 billion euros through the licensing of patented technologies to other companies.

All patent disputes have Nokia and Samsung apparently not yet settled by the conciliation procedure. The agreement encompasses a part of the patent portfolio of Nokia Technologies until the end of 2018, according to a recent release from Nokia. The company will negotiate with Samsung on the other relevant patents.

Samsung looked after the acquisition of the mobile phone division of Nokia by Microsoft consisting in 2011 with a term of seven years closed Patent Agreement with the software group Redmond as to void, and wanted to make any further payment (we reported). Microsoft had thereupon filed in August 2014 in the US lawsuit against the South Korean mobile phone maker. In February 2015, both companies announced already that they had reached an agreement.
