The senate of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, KIT has decided to distance itself from the Honorary Senator of the former managing director at the former nuclear research center, Rudolf Greifeld. According to the opinion of the Ethics Committee KIT Greifeld worked during the Nazi era in the war Board in Paris and followed the Nazi ideology to Jewish persecution. The “Initiative against military research at universities” has welcomed the decision, but criticized that the KIT honoring Greifelds but not quite familiar with. The KIT represents the attitude that an Honorary Senator extinguished from a legal perspective after death and therefore sufficient official distancing.
