The Federal Network Agency is satisfied: More than two-thirds of households have broadband Internet. In the EU comparison Germany is doing well.

A majority of German households now has Broadband Internet: 70 percent use a broadband connection, 58 percent even have particularly fast internet with a transfer rate of 50 megabits per second (Mbit / s) and more, writes the Federal Network Agency their current activity report on telecommunications in Germany (PDF).

By mid-2013 the number of broadband connections has increased to 28.4 million in Germany.
