New Technology: New Obama plan provides computer chip implants for U.S. … – PC Games

The project is managed by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), part of the Pentagon and manufactures a range of high-tech equipment for the U.S. military. The new project, which involves computer chip implants goes by the name ElectRx (pronounced “Electrics”, resolved: Electrical Prescription program) and is called with the intention to life, with the help of biosensors and electromagnetic devices to monitor human organs, to assist the body in healing. President Obama spoke this project in his speech, not directly, but a document from the Pentagon and the Department of Veterans Affairs was published, which assures the DARPA 78.9 million dollars for a five-year program.

project is intended to “develop new, minimally invasive technologies that enhance the abilities of the body and the brain to stimulate the health.” ElectRx is part of the BRAIN Initiative (Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neuro Technologies), in which, inter alia, the National Institutes of Health, DARPA, the National Science Foundation and Drug Administration are involved. Official spokesmen report that the BRAIN Initiative also involved a similar chip implant for the brain, which is being developed by DARPA and is intended to predict moods to treat post-traumatic stress. This project is called the SUNBETS program (System-Based Neuro Technology for Emerging Therapies).

The biggest hurdle for the ElectRx program is likely to make the required technology as too small in the human that they body can be used. Already implants in use, inflammatory diseases and other health problems are combat. However, most are the size of a card deck and have to be surgically implanted, which can lead to side effects, such as the official spokesman for the DARPA testified. The goal is to “ultraminimierte devices” that can be injected through a needle into the body to develop.
