Cologne(ots)-TheDepartmentofUrologyoftheKlinikamRinghasoneofthefirstcentersinGermanyaboutthenewultramodernNarrowband-ImagingsystemfromOlympustoshowthebladdermucosa.Thenewnarrow-bandtechnologyallowsphysiciansbladdertumorsatanearly,curablestagetoidentifyandreducetherecurrencerate.

Everyyearbecomeill,accordingtoestimatesoftheRobertKochInstitute,around28,000peopleinGermanytobladdercancer.Whetherbladdercancercanbecured,thisdependsmainlyonthetumorstage:Whatmattersiswhetherthecancertissuehasalreadyattackedthedeeperlayersofthebladderwall,orislimitedtothesurface.”Forthepatient,earlydetectionofbladdertumorisatimelyonsetoftreatmentandthereforeagreaterchanceofsuccessfultreatment,”saysNeubauer.
