WASHINGTON (AFP) The U.S. space agency has completed a test in preparation for future landings on Mars. These rose on Saturday at 20.40 clock (CEST) from a military base in Hawaii on a giant balloon, which came in two and a half hours to an altitude of 36,000 meters. Another quarter of an hour later there was a kind of flying saucer, the Low-Density Supersonic Decelerator (LDSD), exposed. This came with rocket propulsion and 3.8 times the speed of sound at an altitude of 54,900 meters.
