The mission goes by the name “Plato”, which stands for “Planetary Transits and Oscillations of stars”. “Plato” is also the name of the spacecraft that will explore countless planetary systems for Esa.
Plato should be equipped for this purpose with 34 cameras and telescopes with which the probe is to explore over a million stars. The research is also the hope of finding Earth-like planets. Given the number of study planetary systems, it is extremely likely that several habitable planets are found, where life would be possible.
Until Plato sets out to find, however still take some time. According to ESA, the probe is to be launched into space in 2024 at the latest using a Soyuz rocket. The
